At MERI, considerable emphasis is placed on overall development of every students character. To achieve this goal, all students are encouraged to actively participate in the wide range of sporting facilities & extra curricular activities that are made available to them.
Prizes are awarded to students excelling in sporting activities as well as to "Sadans" (Houses) that set exemplary standards in terms of efficiency & performance of duties.
Facilities at MERI provide excellent opportunity for those who are inclined to improve their skills in sporting events and games. MERI has regularly participated in inter-collegiate sports meets & have successfully positioned herself as one of the best.
The facilities at the Campus include:
- A competition standard Swimming Pool. (See photograph on Right)
- Tennis Court.
- Field Games - Cricket, Football, Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball etc.
- Gymnasium for Physical Development ( Fully equipped Gym ).
- Indoor Games - Table Tennis, Carom, Darts, Chess etc.
- Kick Boxing

Not only the students are constantly urged to take part in various Group activities, they are also encouraged to use the existing academic facilities to pursue their individual interests.
- While the Campus Workshop is essentially meant for Practical Trainings, students have regularly used the workshop for individual interest in "Model Making". In fact, the Institute also organises an Annual Model Making
competition every year.
- Similarly, the Computer Laboratory is used by many to improve their IT Skills.
- Students run - Photography Club, Literary Society, Art Club.
- College Band, Stage Plays are organised during special occasions, College day celebration etc.
